GeekBrief.TV: Over 500 episodes and going

February 23, 2009

As a long time viewer of GeekBrief TV, I can say that after 500 episodes of tech news, GeekBrief TV delivers, and it delivers well. The host, Cali Lewis, started GeekBrief with her husband Neal and after 50 or so episodes in, they decided to do GeekBrief full-time, quitting their day jobs. They had help from Adam Curry, founder of Podfinder.com, now Mevio.com, and ever since, they’ve been keeping viewers up to date with the latest gadgets. This show is definitely top notch with a lovable host who knows what she’s talking about. Now they’re pursuit is to travel around all 48 states in a RV and do GeekBrief TV called the big trip. Due to bad economic weather, they’ve decided to, instead, pursue a different goal right now — “take an ordinary house with no technology other than a door bell and a garage door opener and turn it into a gadget house.” [From GeekBrief #484]

It’s the geeky aspect of it that makes this show so appealing. They interview many guests, go to trade shows and cover what’s there, and do what they love to do. GeekBrief TV branches off to other programs or blogs too, including BigTrip.TV, iCali.TV, CaliLive.TV, Carnivore.TV, Dear Cali, and the gadget blog. GeekBrief doesn’t stop at the videos, Cali Lewis sometimes streams live and everyone can tune in whenever. Or, if you’re not a fan of following around a splendid tech host, just watch the videos, or read the blog once it a while. It wouldn’t hurt, and plus you’ll probably see a gadget you’ve never seen before.
