Kathy Maister’s Start Cooking

April 3, 2009

When I just started listening to podcasts, I turned to the Food and Drinks section of iTunes to see what kind of cooking show is the best online. Of course, I was just looking at iTunes’ list, even though it’s biased, but I found this show: Kathy Maister’s Start Cooking. It’s a smart and witty show giving recipes on family favorites like Tex-Mex Cheeseburgers. The videos are made purely of a picture slide show with sound effects. But it takes a step by step tutorial for those who rarely cook: this show is aimed at novices. These recipes are not so difficult and are fairly common dishes. Of course, the downsides of the show is that they don’t tell you much about the nutritional value of some food. Anyhow, watch this show, which updates every so often, I don’t have a time table, and feel free to experiment on your cooking. She lays down the recipe, then gives you a list of ingredients presented in the show.

If you want more than the videos offer, the website gives additional tips on cooking. That’s if you’re more for finding cooking tips here and there if you have questions of her videos.
