Weekend Extra: Goodnight Burbank

April 18, 2009

I loved the first season of Goodnight Burbank. When Hayden Black, who plays one of the anchors on Goodnight Burbank, announced that a second season was coming, I was very pleased. But first, let me give you some background of the first season.

The first season of Goodnight Burbank was a show with a premise of what do anchors and the staff production crew do during the breaks on local news. And the result of this premise is hilarious. The news anchors are full of flaws, and some are likable characters. The cast in itself is a great line-up of actors who probably have prior experience working at the news stations and have some sort of real life experience with working at such places. Take the two co-anchors for example, Gordon Winston-Smythe and Kelly Jones, pronounced ho-hes. They hate each others’ guts off camera, but are decent folks on camera.

Now enter Goodnight Burbank: Hollywood Report. We have the same two co-anchors as last season, but instead of having a late night news show, it’s a daytime celebrity gossip news show. There are some changes with the original cast, but it’s still the same comedy and the same main characters we know and love. Another favorite character, Kenny Schickler, is a former mama’s boy who a nerdy aspect to him. Fun, surprising, and a huge satire to our daily news, Goodnight Burbank is a well produced show that everyone on the net has to experience at least once.

Thanks for the review. For the record, none of the cast nor myself have ever spent time in a newsroom. We’re just THAT good 🙂

    cheers,
    Hayden
